Strafford - Properties
Strafford is a small community in the heart of Tredyffrin Township. The township was recently named the “Place with the Best High School” in Philadelphia Magazine’s October 2006 article, “The 50 Best Places to Live in Philadelphia,” in which it was ranked number 6. Statistics such as population density, minutes to Center City, number of violent crimes, and average SAT scores were used to classify township rankings. Tredyffrin-Easttown school district’s Conestoga High School in Berwyn, the school to which the article refers, offers 26 of the 32 available AP classes and retains a 15:1 student-faculty ratio. The results are reflected in the school’s high SAT scores, making Conestoga High School one of the highest-ranking open-admission high schools in the country. In the center of the township lies the rich and fertile Great Valley, beginning at Valley Forge and running west toward Coatesville. The Great Valley has become the high technology corridor of Pennsylvania, known for the Great Valley Corporate Center.
The Schuylkill Expressway provides a convenient commute into Center City, while recreational activities, including year-round tennis and swimming, make Strafford worth returning home. Strafford is adjacent to Wayne’s well-known Opera House and Wayne Hall.
