Paoli - Properties
The town of Paoli within Tredyffrin Township possesses a unique location for professional and recreational travel. Almost equidistant from Wilmington, Delaware and Philadelphia, the small town offers a commute with expanded market possibilities. Residents will also find Valley Forge National Park to the north and Historic Waynesborough to the south, making Paoli a wonderful midpoint for work and landmarks alike.One of the more significant inns in the Paoli area was the inn kept by Joshua Evans beginning in 1769 near the current site of the Paoli Post Office. This inn was named in honor of General Pasquale Paoli, a Corsican, after he had received the 45th and final toast at a St. Patrick's Day celebration. The town of Paoli later grew around this inn.
Many prominent colleges surround the area as well, including Immaculata College, West Chester University, Eastern College, and Villanova University. As a part of Tredyffrin Township, Paoli families can send their children to the prestigious Conestoga High School in nearby Berwyn. Conestoga High School was recently named the “Best High School” in Philadelphia Magazine’s October 2006 article, “The 50 Best Places to Live in Philadelphia,” in which Tredyffrin Township ranked number 6. The high school offers 26 of the 32 available AP classes and retains a 15:1 student-faculty ratio. The results are reflected in the school’s high SAT scores, making it one of the highest-ranking open-admission high schools and making nearby Paoli a viable option for education-minded families.
Formerly a prosperous agricultural society, Paoli has converted much of its farmland for residential use, creating a contemporary feel. Despite residential and commercial progress, the township still maintains its natural scenery. Paoli is a wonderful opportunities for middle income families.
