Devon - Realty
The small community of Devon is located 10 miles west of downtown Philadelphia in Radnor Township, perhaps the most affluent area in Pennsylvania. Philadelphia Magazine’s October 2006 article, “The 50 Best Places to Live in Philadelphia,” listed Radnor Township in the top five best of all townships in the Philadelphia region. Statistics such as population density, minutes to Center City, number of violent crimes, and average SAT scores were used to classify township rankings. Devon, bordering both Maryland and Delaware, remains a smart place to buy a home or invest in real estate with both vibrate corporate landscape all its own and convenient city access. In addition to upscale real estate, Devon also boasts top notch educational options. The Devon Preparatory School is, of course, based here, and the town is conveniently located adjacent to Conestoga High School in Berwyn. Conestoga High School was named “Best High School” in Philadelphia by Philadelphia Magazine. Devon is also home to the scenic Jenkins Arboretum, a major horticultural attraction that features many native trees, wildflowers, and shrubs.
Possessing the appeal of a small 5,000 plus resident town, Devon is a hot real estate commodity. Real estate investors and home buyers alike will find an attractive selection of industrial property, commercial real estate, and homes for sale. Houses range from the Victorian to Colonial to interesting modern designs. Radnor is perhaps the most scenic of the Main Line Townships thanks its natural preservation efforts and beautifully landscaped grounds. There are numerous parks, playgrounds, golf courses, and athletic fields in addition to convenient local shopping and fine dining.
